Every Case Is Black, and Yours Is Too
Baggage halls are a study in how badly identical objects scale. The fix is not a better memory; it is making the bag visibly yours from across the hall — a bright strap, a marked handle, anything that reads at ten metres rather than at arm’s length.
A Strap Does Two Jobs
The visibility is the obvious one. The second is that a strap holds a case shut if the shell takes a knock in transit and the latch gives, which is the difference between a delayed bag and a bag whose contents are somewhere on a conveyor.
Photograph It Before You Drop It Off
One photo of the packed case and one of the tag takes five seconds and turns a lost-bag conversation from a description into evidence. It is the cheapest insurance in travel and almost nobody does it.
